What started out as a pretty normal day, turned out to be the 3rd best day of my life, after the birth of my son and my wedding day.
I love the Foo Fighters and for them to be playing a low key intimate gig a stones throw from my house, I had to go along!

I arrived at 13.30pm and there was probably only 10 people gathered outside. I quickly went home and collected my guitar on the off chance they might come out and sign it.
I waited patiently by the metal railings chatting to the security guys and other excited FF fans.

At about 14.45 the band arrived and my excitement went through the roof! Visually seeing them get out of their vehicles was amazing!
I waited again and before long I could hear them sound checking…… again, although I had no ticket to see them, just hearing them, my excitement grew! After the sound check, Pat came out to greet us….. he signed my guitar, which meant so much to me! He was also happy to pose for a selfie with me!

Even if I didn’t get to see them in the venue, my day was amazing.

As the afternoon drew on and the lucky ticket holders made their way in, I wasn’t sure whether to hang around and listen outside the Cheese and Grain.

Word had got out that there was a queue forming for people who didn’t have tickets with the possibility of getting in….. which I was fortunate enough to be near the front of!!!!
The queue started moving and people without tickets were getting in!

I was now at the front of the queue with my wife and we got ushered into the venue with the small charitable contribution of £10.
Once inside and seeing how small the venue was, I knew firstly, how lucky I was to get in and secondly, this was going to be an amazing Foos gig!

After Michael Eavis had welcomed them to the stage, from the first note to the last, this was by far the best gig I have ever seen!
To be in a venue with 650 people with Dave and the rest of the band playing their hearts out was unbelievable.

I’ve been lucky enough to see Oasis, David Bowie, the Rolling Stones and many more over the years….. but, for me, this was personally the best gig I have ever seen!
Those boys know how to put on a show!

A few days after the gig, I got a tattoo reminding me of my amazing day!

I hope you enjoyed my story.
