So we have come to the end of this exciting project, taking it down to the very last hour.
So let’s take a look back on the last 60 days
19th September 2014 Project launched
23rd September 2014 – Project hits national press via press release from www.foofightersuk.com
The Birmingham Mail
25th September 2015 – Project becomes fully funded
16th October 2014 – Project discussed at LiveUK summit in London
18th November 2014 – Project closed by creators due to no response from management
We could not have done any more to raise awareness of the issues within the secondary ticket market and make this project public
There are so many questions running through all of our heads right now
Kickstarter is one of the most trusted crowd funding systems out there. NO payment is taken until fully funded and successful; it’s trusted and gives both creators and backers great visibility of what’s happening
Can we extend the project to allow for management to respond?
No, 60 days is the maximum amount of time a project can run with Kickstarter
Have we received a response from management at all?
Nothing of any substance, regarding a yes or a no
Has any payment been taken from my account?
No, as the project has been cancelled then no payments will be taken.
Do management and the band know about the project?
Yes, they have been talking about it publicly since 10th October. Our project was proposed via their record label to management. We have always said that we will 100% support the decision of the band regardless of the outcome
So what have we achieved……..
We HAVE taken the situation into our own hands and we did sell out our own crowd funded gig completely cutting out the middle man.
We HAVE raised awareness of the issues within the secondary ticket market worldwide
We HAVE built a community of people who want to drive change and support each other through it
We did create one of the strongest Kickstarer projects out there and held out until the final hour
We have inspired others to think of innovative idea’s INCLUDING the band
XFM. “Dave Grohl has hinted this morning that they may end up playing crowd funded gigs in Birmingham and Cornwall after fans followed in the footsteps of a similar gig that happened in the states” DAVE GROHL. “We haven’t told anyone about it but I think we’re going to do something that no one has done yet, yeah, we haven’t never talked to no body about this before. I think I’ve found a way that we can make it work with the band and the people so that there will be a time where we will cut out the middle man and let the people decide where the Foo Fighters play a show.. maybe sometime.”
It is disappointing that we haven’t received a response, acknowledgement or decision but I am sure they have their reasons and we support this.
Everybody at www.foofightersuk.com would like to thank you all for your support with this project.
